How to solve a conflict

Show notes

I talk with David Ginati, an expert in non violent communication (developed by Marshall B. Rosenberg), who has been working in that field for around 10 years now, about how to solve conflicts in a peaceful, solution focused way. He gives very helpful advices for teachers and for any kind of relationships. He was engaged in different peace projects and participated mediation and therapy trainings. We talk about:

  • the consequences of judging and how we can use it for selfimprovement
  • the importance of building consciousness around needs that want to be seen behind strong emotions
  • the presence of triggers
  • how the wanting of staying in power can be in contradiction to peace
  • trust-culture building in classrooms: "I take you seriously, I see you, I listen, I want to understand you…"
  • the problems behind hierarchy structures
  • how we become the change to inspire others
  • separation between cause and impact on triggering different feelings in others
  • reality checks as a tool for clarification of realities
  • the potential in conflict of understanding eachothers pain, the why, where it comes from to creates spaces where we can heal together and get to know eachother and ourselves better
  • how pain and being hurt shows us our primary wounds
  • a method to see all the structures inside ourselves the pain touched
  • trustfull relationship building tips
